A couple of days ago, I read the article "15 characteristics of a 21 Century Teacher." I must say, I agree with it 100%. Not just because at the job I work at or the school I go to uses media, but because technology has taken over today's generation. You can't take it away from them so why not put it to good use right?
Most 21st Century teachers use technology. In my opinion that's what It takes to be a 21st century teacher sometimes. You have to expand your tool box, try new things, and of course teach with social media from time to time.
You can also give online test or games to test your student knowledge and see if they are receiving the correct information they are supposed to get from technology. They will probably like that better than something on paper and be more interested to do the assignment.
Most teachers might question their selves "is using technology in the classroom going to far?" Absolutely not. Some children learn best through media and will probably pay more attention to it. But you might also think about how children are bombarded with technology outside of school, so we need it in school? Well why not? A little more technology won't hurt, especially for the ones that learn best from it.

What Do teachers make?
Since I was in elementary school, I've ALWAYS wanted to be an teacher, why? I'm not sure, it has just always been one of my first ideas. My peers around me ask why do i want to work with "bad kids" or why would you want to major in education. My answer is not "because I like kids" it's because I want to be that teacher that makes a change in the school environment, I want to be the teacher that makes a difference in the school house.
Teaching is not all about get paid. Yes,i agree some teachers don't get paid enough but that doesn't affect the way they teach. Some teachers teach just because they love it. That's the type of teacher I am going to be in the future. I won't work just because I need to money I will work because I love teaching, I love the environment.
As a teacher, I will make a change in education, I will make a difference.http://youtu.be/ http://youtu.be/kSDPhhfEY5Ahttp://youtu.be/kSDPhhfEY5A

Heres where I find the treasure in teaching,
I find the treasure in teaching by believing I can do it, and not giving up.
For example LESSON PLANS. Lesson plans play a huge role in teaching, and I'm not so great at them. But guess what? I don't give up. I believe I can do it, and when you believe you can your already half way there.
Believe you can, and your halfway there.

TAFE COMPETITION
TAFE competition is coming up sooner than I expected. Texas association of future educators is what it stands for incase you were wondering what TAFE was. TAFE holds a number of competions, competing against many different regions. It goes from regionals to state to nationals. Last year I made it to state in the bulletin board competition. Great experience for me, I was hoping to make it to nationals but it was my very first time doing anything like that so I think I made it far enough. But this year I plan to make it all the way to nationals, that's my goal. But I'm not sure what I would like to compete in. I might settle in bulletin board again and if I do. This year I will be more creative, talented and inspiring with my work.

Find your Marigold: The One Essential Rule For New Teachers
After reading the article "Find your Marigold" I learned, TO SURROUND MYSELF WITH GOOD PEOPLE.
Most people would probably plant roses, or sunflowers. But I'd plant an Marigold. A Marigold is one of the best things to plant. It protects a wide variety of plants from pest & etc.
speaking of marigolds, you might have a couple of growing Marigolds in your school. Like the strong, supportive and encouraging teachers, and if your not a Marigold yourself than your most likely surrounded by plenty of them. You'd be lucky if your close to one or even across the hall from one.
Beware of the walnut trees, be a Marigold in your school!
