Chp..23-26

The major reason for a test is to find out if the students have accomplished the objectives of an assignment. But there's two things a test do. Tests are to be used to monitor learning and also to assess learning. A test is supposed to help you figure out where your students are at with understanding your teaching, also it helps you see what student have mastered your class so far and what students who are till struggling to get through. Test do not only benift us teachers, as much as students dislike taking test, it can benefit them. Test can even help the children see what they master in and what they struggle in. Test helps the students assess leaning and maybe even learn something new!

"Test are to be used to determine if the student has accomplished the stated objectives or learning criteria"

An effective teacher writes a test and makes sure that it corresponds an objective or learning criterion, and if the concept is not mastered, give the students remediation or corrective help. For example I've had teachers who give test which have to do nothing with what we're learning the following week, or is the complete opposite of what the objective states. I've also had teachers whoms objective fits perfect with the test, and If still not mastered, we'd go over it as an class or do test corrections to make sure we master it the next time round.

"Cooperative learning is a win-win situation.
Everyone wins: students, teachers, administrators, community, and humankind."

Cooperative learning looks like, a group or a team working together as one to get something done.
There's three ways you can encourage cooperative learning in your classroom. You can put your class in groups of three and four and they can collaborate, you can have your students work together as a class and they can communicate , or you can pair them up as two and have them create. For example, In my math class there's no desk involved, there's about five or six round tables and there's about five to maybe so children at each table. My teacher teaches part of his objective, then he has us turn around to our groups and talk about what the answer could be or even about wether we understand it or not. So basically everything we do in there is group work (except test and quizzes). I must admit, cooperative learning works great in the matter.

The professional teacher recognizes that the classroom is a complex environment; the most successful teacher is the one capable of making decisions and solving problems in that environment. i will achieve sucess by; using first-day-of-school activities, by dressing for sucess, by having the classroom ready with a positive atmosphere, by investing time on teaching the discipline plan, by giving structured assignments with clear goals, and last but not least by implementing strategies for cooperative learning.

"The brain does not need to be motivated any more than the heart needs to be motivated to pump blood."

I will achieve happiness when I know that the children in my class are getting comfortable with my class and the way I run things thing, and when they are on the right track with learning what I am teacher. As well s effectiveness. When my children succeed and pass on to the next level mastering everything they need to know, is when I will feel like I've achieved effectiveness.
